Immunoglobulin detection
ProGenosis has developed Bifunctional Hybrid Proteins (BHPs) with a protein domain enabling the binding of a huge range of antibody subclasses. This is achieved by using a domain that displays a natural affinity towards immunoglobulin Fc or Fab regions.
The following domains have been introduced with success into the BHP scaffold:
- One Fc-binding domain of the Streptococcus pyogenes protein G (6 kDa)
- One Fc-binding domain of the Staphylococcus aureus protein A (6 kDa)
- One Fab-binding domain of the Peptostreptococus magnus protein L (9 kDa)
- The Human FcεRIα domain, which enables the binding of the IgE region (12 kDa)
These BHPs are used as the secondary detection agent for β-lactamase-amplified enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays. Many substrates are commercially available for colorimetric or fluorescent detection (contact us for more information about these).
